Roger Self has collected this treasure-trove of memorabilia documenting the 78 years of the Kawartha Invitational Golf Tournament.
If you have any comments or have some pictures/memorabilia to possibly add to the site,
- As you can see from the articles/pictures below, from the very beginning, the
Thanks to reporters/photographers such as Dale Clifford, Jim Clarkson, Cec Purdue, Ted Galambos, Bob Feaver, Mike Davies, Clifford Skarstedt, Gary Dalliday, Pete Dalliday, Bill Bennett (I'm sure I have missed many) for their work. Without them, this collection would not be possible.
Many photographs are from friends, players etc. In many cases, photographs have been collected from on-line stories etc. and credit has been indicated, when known.
There have been a number of tournament sponsors over the 78 years including Molsons and Labatts, but
was certainly the longest-running major sponsor.

Fraser Dunfield recently passed his 100th birthday. As a wonderful gesture, he donated a beautiful clock which is located at the 1st tee. It has become a landmark and is now a great picture-taking spot.

Winner/RunnerUp Scores 1st Tee-time 6:00AM. Last Tee-time 3:35PM Contributed memory: "I remember being dropped off in the dark at 6:00AM of the Friday practice round and having the Caddie-Master put my name on the list. I didn't get called that day.. Same routine the next day.. But this time I did get a caddie job. My golfer paid me $8.00 for the 3 days. . . And back then you would have to shag balls on the driving range. . . Imagine being in the driving range with many golfers hitting balls. . . You had to track down your golfer's balls and pick them up. . . And, at the same time, dodge all of the other golfers' balls. Times have changed."
